University of London Intercollegiate halls
-Shared between the University's Colleges and Institutes.
-A great opportunity to live with and meet students from other institutions.
-Priority goes to international students in their first year of study in the UK.
Information on the halls including rates, location and resident handbooks can be found on the University of London website.
-Applications start at the end of April and close at the end of July for following academic year.
-Intercollegiate Halls are usually limited to one year.
Private and charity-run halls of residence
-large range of accommodation from dorms to flats.
-Birkbeck has an agreement with one of the private providers Unite: a number of rooms are reserved for Birkbeck students until the end of June. You can apply for Unite halls using our online form.
-For all other halls of residence you can apply directly with the private organisation can stay in private or charity-run halls of residence.
-You can stay in halls of residence as long as you are a full time student.
University of London Student Homes
-Through the UoL Student Homes scheme
-Rooms for full-time students in shared flats or houses.
-Rooms available will the advertised throughout the year on the University of London Students Homes webpage.
-You would become a tenant of the University of London. You will be required to have a guarantor, though these do not have to be living in the UK.
-You must have an unconditional offer to be able to apply.
University of London's Housing Services (ULHS) – help with private accommodation
-The University of London’s dedicated Private Housing Service
-Offers a range of services to assist and support students who are looking for and living in private accommodation, such as flat, flat-share or room in private homes
-University of London’s Housing Services, which is based in Student Central, next door to Birkbeck main building on Malet Street.
The service helps you to find accommodation from their database which includes properties from private landlords as well as letting agents.
